I love any excuse to get gussied up and living in New York provides so many. This weekend, my excuse was a dinner date at one of my favorite Manhattan restaurants, Dovetail. My get-ready ritual starts with a dig through my closet, and if I’m lucky, I find an oldie-but-goodie in the back perfect for the occasion.

The last time I wore this blue, watercolor frock was to see Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business more than a year ago, so it was long overdue for a night out. I topped it off with a few blue accessories to translate this sundress into an Autumn evening ensemble – a bright cardigan and suede stilettos.
