Dancing Shoes

Tonight, in the middle of the week I had a very pleasant surprise of dance lessons at Fred Astaire with the Boyfriend. I had been hinting, pleading really, for months. Now that it’s official, my first question was, “what do I wear?”

Shoes would be key to following every step and swaying to each note, so I started from the ground up, added a punch of color with stretchy skinnies and a soft top with bright accessories.

1. Tory Burch Reva Flats in Silver 2. J Brand Skinny Twill Jeans in Black Cherry 3. Diane von Furstenberg Tunic 4. J Crew Suede Belt 5. Colored Pearls from a boutique in Paris

The lessons and the outfit were a resounding success, ballet flats and colored skinnies are a versatile combo. We foxtrotted, salsa’d and swing-danced in circles around the studio, only running into the mirror once (not my fault I was dancing backward), and I can’t wait to go back. I’ll be side- and rock-stepping my way to work with the counts One Two Three, One Two Three running through my head this week for sure.
